This damage can include discolouration and deformation of the leather, cracking, splitting of the leather or mould growth. When leather shoes are saturated with water, the best way to avoid damaging the leather is to pat the boots dry and allow them to air out in a cool, dry place. It’s important to avoid using high temperatures or heat tools to dry out your shoes, as this may deform or crack the leather. Be sure to wait until your shoes are completely dry before wearing them again.
The most important aspect of caring for your leather shoes is ensuring the leather stays clean and conditioned. Regularly clean your leather shoes with a soft brush or a damp cloth to remove any accumulated dirt or dust. Once the leather is clean, allow your shoes to dry at room temperature.
